PARIS (AA) - Supporters of Palestine held a torchlight demonstration Friday in Paris to demand an end to Israel's genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Demonstrators gathered in front of Town Hall in the 20th district, carrying torches, Palestinian flags and banners that read: "Stop the genocide in Gaza" and "Cease-fire."

They condemned Israel's actions in Gaza and urged Tel Aviv to end attacks on the people of Gaza and establish a lasting cease-fire in the region.

They also demanded that France enforce arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief Yoav Gallant, and the implementation of economic and diplomatic sanctions against Israel.

Salim, a member of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement in France, told Anadolu that with year-end celebrations approaching, it was important to remind people of the suffering endured by many in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, including women and children.

"We must boycott Israel," Salim said, adding that the boycott should include all companies supporting Israel, including banks and restaurant chains.
