ANKARA (AA) - Another 38 people died and two remained missing after massive rains caused flooding and slides in China's southern Guangdong province on Friday, raising the death toll to 47 in two days, sate-run Xinhua News reported.
At least nine people were killed due to torrential rains in two places in Guangdong on Thursday.
The fresh casualties were reported in the jurisdiction of Meizhou city.
Heavy rains caused landslides, floods and mudslides that severely damaged eight townships in Pingyuan County, where the latest deaths were reported, state-run broadcaster CCTV reported.
