ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s trade sales volume increased by 7.2% year-on-year in October, according to data released Wednesday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Retail sales showed a notable boost, rising by 15% compared to the same period last year.
In retail trade, food, drinks, and tobacco sales grew by 10.6%, while non-food sales surged by 20.1%. Automotive fuel sales saw a modest increase of 1%.
In the wholesale sector, wholesale and retail trade, along with the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, increased by 9.2%, while wholesale trade sales volume rose by 3.8%.
On a monthly basis, overall trade sales volume fell by 1.9%. However, the retail sales volume index saw a slight increase of 0.2%.
