ANKARA (AA) – A train in Italy rammed into maintenance workers overnight killing at least five people, Italian media reported Thursday.
The accident occurred in the northern town of Brandizzo, near Turin, while the workers were replacing the tracks, state-run ANSA news agency said.
The train was running at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour (99.4 miles per hour).
Two other workers survived unharmed, while the driver is still in shock but stable.
The accident caused some traffic disruptions in the Turin area.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
