ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's public broadcaster TRT launched its Arabic broadcasting service on Monday.
TRT Arabi, which was first aired in 2010 with the aim of reaching an audience of 350 million, expanded its global reach by opening bureaus in the cities of Baghdad, Jerusalem, Tehran, Cairo, London, Moscow, Washington, Beirut and Oman.
TRT Arabi aims to reflect modern technology in both studios and broadcast, and plans an integrated approach with digital journalism.
The channel -- with the new broadcasting policy under the coordination of Resul Serdar Atas -- also recruited many journalists from 21 Arab countries.
With its news programs, documentaries about Middle East and Arabic geography, TRT Arabi will also promote Turkey in the world.
