ISTANBUL (AA) – A suspect was arrested after 30,000 liters (almost 7,925 gallons) of smuggled fuel was seized in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul, security sources said on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the provincial police department launched an operation in Arnavutkoy district, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restriction on talking to the media.
The teams confiscated the smuggled fuel stored in 143 containers at a warehouse in Tasoluk neighborhood, the source added.
The warehouse owner identified by the initials A.T. was arrested for fuel smuggling.
