ANKARA (AA) - Turkish security forces on Monday arrested dozens of ex-police officers for their alleged links to FETO, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey.
Police sources said that 46 former police officers were arrested in a nationwide operation.
Ankara prosecutors previously issued arrest warrants against 64 terror suspects belonging to Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).
Police are on the lookout for the rest.
FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Turkey accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration in Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
