VAN, Turkey (AA) - Seven undocumented migrants were held in eastern Turkey on Wednesday, according to security sources.
In Basciftlik district of Van province, seven Afghan nationals were detained while they were trying to enter Turkey illegally, said the sources who refused to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Police detained the migrants, including three children, the sources added.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
