ANKARA (AA) - Turkish men's national basketball team toppled Netherlands 73-71 in Sunday's FIBA EuroBasket 2022 qualifying group match in Istanbul.
Turkish star Shane Larkin led his team to victory, scoring 23 points and 9 assists.
Sertac Sanli, the Turkish center, had 13 points.
Dutch guards Charlon Kloof and Yannick Franke reached double digits points each against Turkey.
Kloof scored 17 points and had 8 rebounds. Franke racked up 14 points for the Netherlands.
The game was held behind closed doors amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Turkey had their first win in the Group D as they had a 1-3 win/loss record.
Meanwhile, Netherlands marked their second loss in the group. The Dutch team had 2 wins as well.
The Group D is led by Croatia, who won all their three games so far.
Sweden had 1 win and 2 loss to come last.
Croatia will play against Sweden on Sunday.
