ANKARA (AA) - Turkey posted an 11.6% year-on-year rise in crude steel production in November 2020, according to trade group data released on Tuesday.
Turkish crude steel production reached 3.2 million tons last November, the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD) said in a statement.
The volume of steel product exports jumped 25% on an annual basis to 1.5 million tons in November, stemming from previous export commitments, the group said.
The country's earnings from steel exports also surged 30.3% to $818 million during the same period.
Steel imports reached 1.1 million tons, up 23.1%, while in terms of value, they rose 22.9% to $770 million.

In January-November 2020, Turkey's crude steel production climbed 4.9% year-on-year to 32.4 million tons.
The country's steel exports fell 7.8% to 14.8 million tons in the first 11 months of last year, while imports rose 9.5% to 11.5 million tons.
