ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s gross debt stock -- the outstanding debt of public sector institutions, the Central Bank, private companies and households -- stood at 794.5 billion Turkish liras (around $223.4 billion) at the end of April, the Treasury said Monday.
More than 60 percent of the debt -- 486.9 billion liras ($136.8 billion) -- was in Turkish currency and 307.6 billion liras ($86.4 billion) was in foreign currency.
The central government debt stock stood at 793.3 billion Turkish liras (around $217.5 billion at the time) at the end of March.
