ANKARA (AA) - The number of new vehicles registered in Turkey slipped 65.6 percent year-on-year in October 2018 to stand at 38,119, the country's statistics authority, TurkStat, said Tuesday.
The overall number of registered vehicles traveling on Turkish roads by the end of October reached 22.8 million, according to TurkStat.
In October, motor vehicle registration in the country was also down by 15.7 percent from a month earlier.
Of all the new vehicle registrations in October, the share of cars was 54.2 percent while small trucks accounted for 16.4 percent. Motorcycles came in third at 14.1 percent.
In terms of brands, 14.6 percent of all newly-registered cars in October were made by Renault while 9.7 percent were Volkswagen, 8.2 percent Nissan, 8.2 percent Hyundai, 7.9 percent Fiat, 7.4 percent Toyota, 6.8 percent Honda, 5.6 percent Dacia, 4.6 percent Ford, and 4.4 percent were Skoda while 22.4 percent were other makes, TurkStat said.
