ANKARA (AA) - Turkey resolutely continues cross-border operations against terrorists in Iraq, told the country's Foreign Ministry to Iraqi Charge d’Affaires on Sunday, according to a statement by the spokesman.
Iraqi Charge d’Affaires Issam Muhammed was summoned to the ministry and informed that Turkey will resolutely continue cross-border operations against terrorists in Iraq, Hami Aksoy, the spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, said in a statement.
Claims about civilian casualties in military operations against PKK in Iraq is unacceptable, the statement added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years, resulting in the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
