ANKARA (AA) - The number of patent applications has reached 3,799 in the first quarter of 2018 in Turkey, according to Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT)’s data.
Applications for new patents decreased by 4.4 percent, year-on-year, from January to March.
The data also revealed that almost 65 percent of total applications in the country came from foreigners with 2,455 in the first three months of 2018, down from 2,740 in the same period last year.
The highest number of applications came from Germany (556), followed by the U.S. (438) and Switzerland (166).
The number of domestic patent applications rose 9.1 percent during the same period to reach 1,344, according to TURKPATENT.
