ANKARA (AA) - Turkey is "strong" in terms of economic depth and volume, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said Friday.
"Turkey, having around $900 billion GDP, is strong in terms of economic depth and volume," Zeybekci said at the Anadolu Agency’s Editors' Desk in the capital Ankara.
Zeybekci said Turkey has no problem in general economic balances.
"It is obvious that Turkey sustained a certain degree of damage by the movements of [global] financial markets but no one should expect [Turkey] to be devastated, to be extremely affected in terms of economy," he added.
Zeybekci also said holding early elections on June 24 came as a relief for financial markets and reduced speculative risk.
