JERUSALEM (AA) - A football team composed of Turkish staff from Anadolu Agency and Yunus Emre culture center on Sunday came third in a local football tournament in occupied Jerusalem.
The race was organized by a local Palestine sports association named Burj Al Lak Lak. Twelve teams from different countries joined the tournament.
Turkey beat England 3-0, Austria 5-3 and Sweden 2-1, ranking first among the foreign teams.
However, the team lost against Burj Al Lak Lak, which represented hosts Palestine, 3-1.
Burj Al Lak Lak were the winners and YMCA -- the finalists -- were the runners-up.
The top four teams in the tournament were awarded their cups.
The Palestinian association played the Turkish national anthem during Turkey's match against England.
The East Jerusalem has been under Israeli occupation since 1967 and many Palestinian associations -- such as Burj Al Lak Lak -- has been holding various activities for supporting the Palestinian youth in the occupied city.
