MOSCOW (AA) - Turkey's Hasan Akkus has been elected as the President of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) on Thursday.
The 58-year-old Akkus beat Antonio Conflitti from Moldova in the election held in Moscow after receiving 28 of 44 total votes.
Akkus has been the general secretary of the EWF. He also worked as the chairman of the Turkish Weightlifting Federation in the past.
