ANKARA (AA) - Automotive production in Turkey dropped 6 percent year-on-year in the first 10 months of 2018, according to an Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD) report released on Monday.
The OSD said automakers manufactured 1.3 million vehicles -- including automobiles, light commercial vehicles and tractors -- from January to October.
Automobile production also decreased 9 percent on a yearly basis to stand at 858,638 in the same period.
The overall auto sales market (including light trucks and other vehicles) slipped to 502,156, down 32 percent from the same period of last year.
Monday's OSD report also revealed automakers manufactured more than 1 million vehicles during the same period.
The industry's exports rose 13 percent on a dollar basis to $27 billion between January and October compared to the same period in 2017.
The export value of the automobile sector increased by 6 percent year-on-year to $22.7 billion, the report added.
