ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.02 percent or 21.39 points to open at 101,822.80 points on Monday.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.03 percent to close the week at 101,801.42 points with a daily trading volume of 7.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.2650 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with last week's closing rate of 5.2820.
The euro/lira exchange rate was flat at 6.0080 from the last close. One British pound traded for 6.9600 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.9360 by market close on Friday.
The price of Brent oil fell to $60.74 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Monday, versus $61.59 at the previous close.
