ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose slightly by 0.01% or 9.29 points to start Tuesday at 100,614.28 points.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 1.63% to close the day at 100,604.99 points with a daily trading volume of 7.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.36 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7640 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday compared to 5.7460 at Monday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3690, versus 6.3540, and one British pound traded for 7.1340 Turkish liras, while it was 7.1220 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $62.79 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
