ANKARA (AA) - The Borsa Istanbul stock exchange opened 477.16 points up on Tuesday to reach 110,014.51 points, its highest ever opening.
The BIST 100 jumped 0.44 percent to record its highest peak since opening in April 2013.
The banking and holding sector indices rose by 0.33 and 0.34 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the wholesale and retail trade index was the best performer with a 1.73-percent rise, while the electricity index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.62 percent.
The market closed at 109,537.36 points on Monday after increasing 2.41 percent during the day.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.53 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared to 3.52 at Monday's close.
