ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Thursday down 2.27% to close at 90,501.48 points.
After starting the day at 92,172.86 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 2,104.35 points from 92,605.84 points at Wednesday's close.
During Thursday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 90,501.48 points and 92,172.86 points -- 13 stocks on the index rose, 83 fell, and four were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of 600 billion Turkish liras ($103.5 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 5.14 billion Turkish liras ($880 million).
One ounce of gold sold for $1,337.30 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,330.00 at Wednesday's close.
The price of Brent oil was $61.50 per barrel as of 6.45 p.m. local time (1545GMT) on Thursday -- with a day range of $59.72 to $62.64.
At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $53.
