Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at open

BIST 100 index loses 14.53 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,393.79 points on Monday, falling 1.03% or 14.53 points from the previous close.

At Friday’s close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.64% to 1.408.32 points, a historic high level, with a daily trading volume of 22.26 billion Turkish liras ($3.02 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.6900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.6510 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stands at 9.3700, while one British pound traded for 10.2700 Turkish liras, down from 10.3730.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $50.64 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
