ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange decreased 0.26 percent, or 301.91 points, to open at 114,645.67 points on Friday.
Among all sector indices, the leasing factoring sector index posted the best performance, up 2.63 percent, while the telecommunication index suffered the worst, down 0.76 percent.
The BIST banking index increased by 0.26 percent and the BIST holding index decreased by 0.33 percent.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 114,947.58, up 0.85 percent, with a 7.98 billion-Turkish lira (nearly $1.97 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange increased to 4.0560 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday. It was 4.0360 at Thursday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 4.9630, compared with Thursday's close of 4.9470.
The price of Brent oil was $67.92 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Friday.
