ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange decreased 0.38 percent, or 418.84 points, to open at 110,293.86 points on Wednesday.
Among all sector indices, the real estate investment trusts index posted the best performance, up 0.17 percent, while the leasing factoring index suffered the worst, down 1.41 percent.
The BIST banking index and the BIST holding index decreased by 0.58 percent and 0.50 percent, respectively.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 110,712.70, down 2.16 percent, with a 7.8 billion-Turkish lira (nearly $1.9 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange increased to 4.1380 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday. It was 4.1340 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate decreased to 5.1220, compared with Tuesday's close of 5.1130.
The price of Brent oil was $70.84 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Wednesday.
