ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange fell 0.31 percent, or 291.14 points, to open at 94,279.75 points on Tuesday.
The BIST banking and holding sector indices slipped 0.34 percent and 0.31 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the leasing factoring sector index posted the best performance, up 0.36 percent, and the information technologies sector index saw the worst, down 0.81 percent.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 closed at 94,570.90, up 1.02 percent, or 954.45 points.
The USD/TRY exchange rate dropped to 5.3250 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday. It was 5.3350 at Monday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate also slightly rose to 6.1070 by market open -- from 6.1000 at the previous close -- and one British pound traded for 6.8630 Turkish liras versus 6.8670 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil stood at $66.33 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Tuesday, while it was sold for $66 at the beginning of this year.
