ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped by 0.15%, or 151.02 points, to start the midweek at 101,695.92 points.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased by 1.83% to close the day at 101,846.94 points with a daily trading volume of 7.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.37 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7000 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.6900 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased slightly to 6.2700, versus 6.2680, and one British pound traded for 7.1210 Turkish liras, while it was 7.1350 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $62.55 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
