ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index lost 322.29 points to open at 73,068.65 on Monday during its first transactions.
The benchmark index decreased by 0.44 percent while the banking and holding sector indexes declined by 0.74 and 0.32 percent respectively.
On the first trading day of the week, the textile sector index increased the most, by 0.14 percent, while the tourism index started the week with the biggest drop -- a 1.37 percent fall.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was flat to stand at 3.5550 at 9.30 a.m. (0630GMT) Monday, compared to 3.5430 at Friday's close.
