ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, slipped 322.74 points or 0.31 percent to open at 105,000.94 points on Thursday.
The banking and holding sector indices were down 0.51 and 0.29 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the trade sector index was the best performer, increasing by 0.28 percent, while the leasing, factoring sector index started the day with the biggest fall, losing 1.17 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 3.5100 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared with 3.4710 at Wednesday’s close.
The BIST 100 was up 405.90 points or 0.39 percent to reach 105,323.67 points at close on Wednesday, with a 4.3-billion Turkish lira ($1.24 billion) trade volume.
