ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day with a 32.40-point or 0.03 percent increase to open at 107,234.84 points on Monday.
The banking sector index slipped by 0.15 while the holding sector increased 0.30 percent.
Among all sectors, the wood, paper, printing sector index was the best performer with a 1.0-percent rise, while the transportation sector started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.19 percent.
On Friday's close, the BIST 100 was up 377.20 points or 0.35 percent to reach 107,202.43 points, with a total trading volume of 4.6 billion Turkish liras (nearly $1.3 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly decreased to 3.5200 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Monday, compared with 3.5230 at Friday’s close.
