ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started Thursday with a 0.07 percent or 68.11-point decrease to stand at 101,150.18 points.
The banking index rose 0.08 percent and the holding index fell 0.05 percent.
Among all sectors, the leasing factoring index advanced the most with a 0.76 percent hike, while the construction sector index fell 0.69 percent.
The BIST 100 was down 2,711.04 points or 2.61 percent to 101,218.30 points at close on Wednesday. The day’s trading volume was 5.3 billion liras ($1.48 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.5870 liras to the dollar at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 3.5740 at Wednesday’s close.
