ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 26.70 points or 0.03 percent to open at 102,934.43 points on Monday.
On the first transaction day of the week, the banking sector index increased 0.12 percent and holding sector index decreased 0.03 percent.
Among all sectors, the investment trusts sector index was the best performer, rising 0.83 percent, while the wholesale and retail sector index started the day with the biggest fall, losing 0.86 percent.
The BIST 100 was up 0.25 percent to 102,907.73 points at close on Friday. The day’s trading volume was 5 billion Turkish liras (around $1.41 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.5720 liras to the dollar at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Monday, compared with 3.5590 at Friday’s close.
