ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, fell 72.5 points or 0.07 percent to open at 104,687.19 points on Tuesday.
The banking and holding indices went down 0.03 and 0.40 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the tourism sector index saw the biggest rise -- up 1.04 percent -- while the holding index saw the biggest fall.
Turkey's benchmark stock index previously closed Monday up 0.21 percent at 104,759.74 points with a 5.4 billion Turkish lira ($1.38 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 3.9210 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) Tuesday, compared with Monday's close at 3.8950.
The EUR/TRY rate rose to 4.6720 on Tuesday morning, up from 4.6570 at the close on Monday.
Brent oil rose to $63.66 per barrel at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) on Tuesday, compared to $63.17 per barrel on Monday.
