ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, decreased 88.09 points, or 0.08 percent, to open at 109,578.35 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sector indices increased by 0.02 and 0.13 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the information technology sector index saw the highest rise -- up 0.63 percent -- whereas the telecommunication sector index suffered the biggest decline, going down 1.89 percent.
At close on Thursday, the BIST 100 was up 817.85 points -- 0.76 percent -- to 108,971.01 points. The day’s trading volume was 5 billion Turkish lira ($1.3 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 3.8750 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared with Thursday's close at 3.8240.
The euro/Turkish lira rate also increased to 4.5670 on Friday morning, up from 4.5240 at close on Thursday.
Brent oil stood at $63.46 per barrel at 0658GMT on Friday, up from $63.31 at the last close.
