ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,447.49 points on Tuesday, up 0.03% or 0.41 points from the previous close.
At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.99% to 1,447.08 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.3 billion Turkish liras (over $1.66 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 8.6200 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.6300 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange also dropped to 10.4870 versus 10.5150, while one British pound traded for 12.1824 Turkish liras, down from 12.2600.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $71 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
