ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange rose 0.60 percent, or 688.02 points, to open at 115,425.57 points on Monday.
The banking and holding sector indices gained 0.55 percent and 0.50 percent, respectively.
The leasing factoring sector index posted the best performance, up 2.44 percent, while the insurance sector index saw the largest decline, losing 0.02 percent.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 closed at 114,737.54, down 0.18 percent, or 210.04 points, with a 6.6 billion Turkish lira ($1.6 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange slightly rose to 4.0420 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday. It was 4.0340 at Friday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate climbed to 4.9640 on Monday, compared with 4.9480 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil stood at $67.32 per barrel as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT) Monday, compared to $67.40 on Friday.
