ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index gained 226.09 points to open at 78,558.95 Monday after declining 0.5 percent Friday.
The country's benchmark index rose 0.29 percent, while the banking and holding sector indices advanced by 0.46 and 0.10 percent, respectively.
Among the sector indices, the securities investment trust sector increased the most with a 0.80 percent rise, while shares of leasing and factoring companies saw a 0.62 percent decline.
On Monday, there will be no other major local data announcements but it is the last day for BIST-listed companies to submit their unconsolidated financial statements for the third quarter of the year.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate, which was at 3.1210 by the time markets closed Friday, stood at 3.1060 early Monday amid growing expectations the U.S. Federal Reserve would raise interest rates in December.
