ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index gained 153.29 points to open at 77,324.88 Thursday
The country's benchmark index rose 0.20 percent, while the banking and holding sector indices advanced by 0.21 and 0.25 percent, respectively.
Among the sector indices, the food and beverage sector rose the most, up 0.73 percent, while the securities investment trust sector fell the most, down 0.62 percent.
Analysts said that domestically, investors would follow Turkey’s monthly inflation rate to be announced Thursday morning.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate, which was at 3.1150 by the time markets closed Wednesday, stood at 3.1080 early Thursday.
