ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index gained 672.15 points to open at 76,881.12 on Thursday.
The country's benchmark index rose 0.88 percent, while the banking and holding sector indices advanced by 1.01 and 0.67 percent, respectively.
Among sector indices, the electric sector rose the most, up 2.12 percent, while the leasing and factoring sector fell the most, down 0.47 percent.
Turkish markets made a comeback on Wednesday afternoon after Donald Trump’s surprise U.S. presidential victory started to be factored into the Turkish market as well as global markets.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate, which was at 3.2080 when markets closed Wednesday, stood at 3.2040 early Thursday.
