ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the week by going up 0.66 percent to open at 118,294.74 points on Monday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 773,24 points, up from Friday's close at 117,521.50 points.
On Monday morning, the banking and holding sector indices went up 0.80 percent and 0.64 percent, respectively.
All sector indices started the day up while the BIST mining index increased the most -- up 1.98 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate declined to 3.7780 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Friday's closing rate of 3.7880.
The euro/lira rate was stable at 4.6580 on Monday morning, compared with 4.6590 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $67.13 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Monday, versus $67.04 at the close of Friday.
Analysts said markets would follow speeches of the ECB's head Maria Draghi and Fed's member James Bullard, scheduled to be delivered on Monday.
