ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,088.91 points on Tuesday, up 0.17% or 1.88 points from the previous close.
At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 2.24% at 1,087.03 points, with a daily trading volume of 16.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.20 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 7.6450 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 7.6250 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 8.9760 from 8.9620, while one British pound traded for 9.7960 Turkish liras, down from 9.8480.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $41.54 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
