ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 2.41%, or 2,497.03 points, on Tuesday to start the week at 106,021.05 points.
At Monday's close, with the "oil prices shock" experienced yesterday, the BIST 100 Index, which lost 5.54% in parallel with the strong sales in the world stock markets, completed the day at 103.524.02 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1520 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, versus 6.1170 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 6,9850, compared to 6.9920, and one British pound traded for 8.0430 Turkish liras. It was 8.0310 at the last week's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $36.70 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
