ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.52% or 548.13 points to start the week at 105,700.30 points on Monday.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped by 3.15% to close the day at 105,152.17 points with a daily trading volume of 11.4 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.6740 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.6640 at Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.2070, versus 6.1930, and one British pound traded for 6.9920 Turkish liras, while it was 6.9930 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $60.85 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
