ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the week up 0.8% or 767.18 points to open at 96,501.35 points on Monday.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index slipped by 0.87% to close the week at 95,734.17 points with a daily trading volume of 6.45 billion Turkish liras ($1.16 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.5700 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, down from 5.5730 at Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1810 versus 6.1750, and one British pound traded for 6.7950 Turkish liras, compared to 6.7890, at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $59.44 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
