ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 113,329.22 points on Wednesday, up 0.16% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 113,397.29 points. As of the daily close, it earned 175.76 points from Tuesday's close of 113,153.46 points.
During Wednesday's trading, the index hovered between 113,062.75 points and 113,584.91 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 772 billion Turkish liras ($130 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 5.8 billion Turkish liras ($0.98 billion).
On the third transaction day of the week, 45 stocks on the index rose, 10 were down, and the remaining were flat compared to Tuesday.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines and defense giant Aselsan.
Tractor and engine manufacturer Tumosan was the best performer, with its shares up 6.33%, while energy company Isiklar's shares dropped the most, down 4.76%.
The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,490.50 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $67 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
