ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started Tuesday at 101,722.32 points, up 0.45%, or 454.96 points.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 2.54% to close the day at 101,267.36 points with a daily trading volume of 14.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.07 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.9960 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, compared to 6.9860 at Monday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.5640, versus 7.5730, and one British pound traded for 8.7000 Turkish liras, versus 8.6930 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $22.40 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
