ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 0.81%, or 895.99 points, to start Friday at 111,010.65 points.
On Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.03% to 110,114.66 points with a daily trading volume of 10.7 billion Turkish liras (some $1.8 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.7830 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.7780 at Thursday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.4610, versus 6.4450, and one British pound traded for 7.8080 Turkish liras, while it was 7.6210 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $64.65 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
