ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.11%, or 111.09 points, to start the week at 98,526.43 points on Monday.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 3.71% to close the week at 98,415.34 points with a daily trading volume of 6.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.1 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7930 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.7890 at Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.4660, versus 6.4510, and one British pound traded for 7.5050 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4660 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $59.42 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
