ANKARA (AA) – The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index opened Tuesday at 91,380.63 points, up 0.37 percent, or 335.64 points, from Monday's close.
The banking and holding sector indexes were up 0.41 percent and 0.22 percent respectively.
The best performing shares were from the leasing and factoring sector, up 0.94 percent, while the worst performer was food and beverage, down 0.03 percent.
On Monday, the BIST 100 index soared by 1.47 percent to reach 91,044.99 points, reaching its highest level in just over two years with a total trading volume of 4 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.08 billion).
The U.S. dollar versus the Turkish lira rate slightly decreased to 3.7080 at the market opening at 9.30 a.m. (0630GMT) compared with Monday’s market close of 3.7100.
