ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange rose 0.51 percent, or 598.71 points, to 117,439.65 points on Friday.
On the last transaction day of the week, the banking and holding sector indices rose 0.53 percent and 0.62 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the investment trust sector index was the best performer, rising 1.27 percent, while only the insurance sector index saw a decline, down 0.13 percent.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 closed at 116,840.94, up 0.45 percent, or 524.96 points, with a 6.29-billion-Turkish lira ($1.66 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange stood at 3.7900 as of 09.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, from 3.7910 at Thursday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate drooped to 4.6640 on Friday, compared to 4.6760 at previous close.
The price of Brent oil rose by over 1.5 percent to $66.31 per barrel as of 9.00 a.m. local time (0600GMT) Friday, compared to $65.33 at Thursday.
